There will be many stalls present, including locally produced meats, preserves, gifts and cards, ready meals and pies, pancakes and flans, vegetables, eggs, bread pastries, chocolate, cheese, puddings, plants, fine furnishings, blade sharpening and more. Refreshments will be available.

HEATING UP - A co-operative share offer to bring neglected woodlands back into productive use has attracted more than £159,000 in six weeks as it seeks members to fire up its landmark scheme. Woolhope Woodheat is aiming for a 900-tonne reduction in Herefordshire’s carbon emissions by becoming the first co-operative in the country to heat organisations using locally sourced woodchip. Potential members are invited to invest in the co-operative with a minimum investment of £250 and a maximum of £20,000, with a view to raise £324,000 equity to get the project underway. The cash raised will be used to install clean burning woodchip boilers and provide a stimulus for better woodland management. Woolhope Woodheat plans to install the first woodchip boiler at Canon Frome Court, a community comprising 19 homes and set on a 40-acre organic farm. Having attracted approximately half of the investment required, the share offer is extended to September 28. Visit woolhopewoodheat.org.uk to find out more.

RUMMAGE - There will be a rummage sale at Woolhope Parish Hall on Saturday, 10am to 1pm. There are lots of new and second-hand books, CDs, cross stitch patterns, bric-a-brac and other items. Tea and cakes available. All proceeds go to the parish hall.
