KEY STAGE TWO PERFORMANCE - Every year the productions at Whitchurch become more ambitious and this year was no exception! Grease was chosen, adapted, and
performed by the Key Stage Two children. Memorable singing by Olivia Jackson as Sandy and Naomi Dean as Rizzo added to the stunning performances given by a talented group of enthusiastic children
dressed in period outfits which transported us back to the 1950s. How lovely it was to see children who had overcome all sorts of fears confidently entertaining on the big stage. Three performances
culminated in a sell-out on Thursday night, which delighted parents and friends who willingly joined in with the songs and hand-jiving. New stars for the future emerged who no doubt will be
entertaining us in years to come.

ROUNDERS - Whitchurch travelled to compete against 11 schools in the Ross district rounders tournament held at
Weston-Under-Penyard and came back with gold medals. The team played extremely well against stiff competition, gaining the maximum 20 points from their games and a total of 28 rounders. Miss
Hackett expressed her delight at the team skills and communication shown which undoubtedly resulted in their well-deserved first position overall.

OPEN AIR TABLE TENNIS - The new Whitchurch open air table tennis table was officially opened by Jesse Norman, Herefordshire’s Conservative parliamentary
candidate, on a beautiful evening last week. The table was inspired by local resident Malcolm Littlewood, who recalled seeing open air table tennis played in Munich many years ago. The parish
council supported an application to Awards for All, part of the Big Lottery Fund, which covered all the costs requested, close to £2,000. The table and railings were made and installed by Ross Weld
and the installation was complemented by the Cheshire firm Grassmats to provide a firm footing in wet weather. Ross Weld also contributed considerably to the design of this steel table, ensuring
for safety reasons that there were no sharp edges or corners on the table.
