SUMMER FETE – A meeting is being held next Thursday, May 9, at 7.30pm, in the church to arrange this year’s summer fete which will take place on June 15 in the churchyard. Anyone interested in helping in any way is welcome to attend, or contact Isobelle on 01981 580367 for more information.

St Weonards Easter egg hunt

EASTER EGG HUNT - Come and join in an Easter egg hunt in the beautiful grounds of Treago Castle, HR2 8QB, on March 30, 1.30pm-4pm. The fun includes Easter craft activities, an Easter bonnet competition, bouncy castle, face painting, fun races and refreshments. Entry is £3 per egg hunter with proceeds going towards the new outdoor play area at Garway pre-school.

St Weonards affordable housing, Christmas fair and bingo

AFFORDABLE HOUSING - Herefordshire Council, in partnership with Two Rivers Housing Association, has a drop-in information event to find out about affordable housing and to view and discuss details of a potential site for affordable housing development in St Weonards. It is on Wednesday, 2.30pm-7pm, at St Weonards Village Hall.

BINGO - At St Weonards Village Hall tomorrow (Friday), doors open at 7.30pm, eyes down at 8pm. Everyone is welcome.

PROGRESSIVE LUNCH - On Sunday the village hall committee has arranged a progressive lunch. Three courses and coffee for only £12, beginning at the village hall at noon. To book your plate, call Anna Williams on 01981 580710.

FETE AND GARDEN - The church fete is at Treago Castle (just off the A466) on Sunday 2pm-4.30pm. Family fun with stalls and children’s activities. A local team will demonstrate Zumba and there will be a rowing challenge. Tours of the castle and teas.

FETE - Plans are well underway for the church fete on July 8 at Treago Castle. Any donations for the tombola and/or cake stall would be gratefully received either on the morning of the fete or by contacting Isobelle Bevan on 01981 580367.

JUBILEE - The Diamond Jubilee celebrations in St Weonards on Monday are open to everyone. The event from noon-4pm on the school playing field has been organised by a whole village committee. There will be attractions including an obstacle type inflatable, wellie wanging, coconut shy, penny slot machines, tombola, skittles, barbecue, fancy dress competition open to all on the theme ‘Anything Royal’, mini Olympics, strawberry teas, tea dance, ice creams and bar.

BREAKFAST - In St Weonards on Saturday, the Big Jubilee Breakfast will be served from 10am to 1pm in the village hall. Donations for the St Weonards jubilee fund. All welcome.
