JUBILEE - Skenfrith is preparing to celebrate
the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee in traditional
summer style with a riverside picnic on June 3, from 1pm, on the Castle Meadow beside the River Monnow. The organising team of Skenfrith Festival are
taking a break this year, but has put its efforts into setting up this free event instead. There is ample space for family picnics where you can listen to live music all afternoon, culminating with
the popular local band Red River Blues. There will be a fully licensed bar selling local ales and cider, wine and soft drinks, along with a hog roast, freshly cooked pancakes, and strawberries and
cream. Picnickers can also bring their own picnics. For more details, call 01600 750255, or visit skenfrithproduce market.co.uk.
