FREEGLE - Presteigne Freecycle has cut its links with the Freecycle Network and is now affiliated with the rapidly expanding Freegle national network, joining the other Freegle community groups in the area – Hereford, Ludlow and Leominster ; Llandrindod, Brecon and Hay; and Welshpool, Newtown and Montgomery. With well over 1,000 members, Presteigne Freegle is a vibrant online community dedicated to keeping useable “stuff”
out of landfill. Whatever it is you need to get rid of, it seems someone else can make use of it – including items as diverse as leftover building materials, lawnmowers, children’s clothing, toys, DIY tools, TVs and printers, sofas, even coat-hangers and cardboard boxes for removals. Freegle members reckon it is also a great way to find things, and there are usually as many items wanted as there are offered. So if you’re thinking of throwing something away, stop. Join your local Freegle group and offer your reusable items to other group members. Keep it out of landfill by giving it away to someone who can reuse it. The basic rules are simple: All items must be offered and requested for free; all items must be legal to give away; no swaps or loans. If you live within 15 miles of Presteigne, visit freegle.in/presteigne and join the recycling community.
