ACTIVITY WEEK - There will be an activity week at East Radnor Leisure Centre beginning on Monday and running until Friday.
Activities will include football, swimming, tennis, rounders, netball, street dancing, zorbs plus much more. The cost of the week is £25 per child. The week is suitable for children in years four to nine (ages eight-14).
Each child will need swimming kit and a packed lunch each day. Booking is essential as spaces are limited. For information or to book, call the leisure centre on 260302.
SERVICE - Holy communion is on Sunday at St Andrew’s Church at 11am.
COFFEE - Paula Randell is organising a Macmillan Cancer Support coffee morning as part of The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning on September 28 at the Royal British Legion Club from 10am-noon. To help on the day or donate a cake, call Paula on 260485.
SOCCER SCHOOL - There will be a soccer school on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday at the football club run by Jordan Hooper under the Adriano Girolami Soccer School’s umbrella. Each day will run from 9am- 3.30pm and is open to boys and girls aged six to 13 years. All coaches are CRB checked and FA qualified. The cost is £12 per day or £30 for the three days. CHESS CLUB - Do you play chess or would like to learn to play? If so, go along to the chess club at The Farmers every Tuesday from 7.30pm. All standards of players are welcome with tuition available. For further details, call David Hancock on 231208.
FUN DAY - The annual fun day and beer festival is at Presteigne Football Club on August 26 from 2pm. There will be lots going on including junior and over-40s football matches, a funfair, barbecue, stalls and competitions run by local charitable organisations, a duck drop plus much more. There will be many local beers and ciders available, music in the bar all afternoon and live music outside from 6pm with the Lone Wolves plus other guest acts. Admission is £3 for adults and £1 for under-16s before 5pm and £5 after 5pm. For further details or to book a stand, call 260485.
