100 CLUB - The football club’s 100 Club draw for June was at the Royal Oak. Izzy Dayas drew the following winners: £100 Phil Parker, £50 Pam Saunders, £40 Peggy Stephens, £30 Mike Mockler, £25 Sue Ward.

The next draw is in The Bowling Club on July 27 at 9pm.

SHEEP MUSIC - This year’s festival is at Wentes Meadow from July 20-22. A weekend ticket is £60. Tickets are also available for individual sessions or days. Visit sheep musicfestival.com for details. Tickets are also available from The Salty Dog in High Street.

COFFEE - There will be a charity coffee morning in aid of the Bracken Trust Cancer Support Unit at St Andrew’s Church hall on Saturday from 10am-noon, with cakes, books, a raffle and more.

GATHER ROUND - Marion Rowlatt invites you to gather round the piano for a sing-song on Saturday from 11am-12.30pm. Everyone from nine to 90 is welcome to turn up and join in. Singers and instrumentalists most welcome. £4 for adults, children free.

COUNCIL - Presteigne and Norton Town Council meets on Wednesday at the Shire Hall from 7.30pm. The public are welcome.

EXHIBITION - There is an exhibition on sporting life in Presteigne at The Judge’s Lodgings, Tuesday-Sunday from 10am-5pm until September 23. The special feature will be the World Super Sport Champion Chaz Davies. Admission is free. For further details, call 260650.

TAPAS - There will be a Tinto tapas evening at No 46 Wine Bar tomorrow (Friday) from 7.30pm with a cookery demonstration by Suzanne Beaumont Davies. Tickets are £15 from Deli Tinto or The Wine Bar.

FUN DAY - Presteigne Colts Under-eights and nines will be having a fun day on Saturday at the football club from noon-4pm. There will be lots going on including a car boot (£5 per boot), a bouncy castle, barbecue, penalty shoot out, music, refreshments and a bar.

Entrance is £2 for adults and £1 for children.

ACTIVITY WEEK - There will be a summer holidays activity week at East Radnor Leisure Centre, for school years four-nine, from August 6-10 from 9am-4pm each day. A packed lunch and swimming kit are required each day. The cost of the week is only £25.

Booking is essential, as places are limited, on 260302. The week will be run by 5 x 60 officer Jody Owen Evans.

SUMMER FAIR - The Catholic Church summer fair is on Saturday at the Memorial Hall from 10am-1pm. There will be birthday and christmas gifts, kids’ games, books, jewellery, plants, lucky dip, a draw, tombola, refreshments plus lots more. All are welcome.

JAM AT THE RAD - There is a jam session at the Radnorshire Arms on Mondays from 7.30pm. Just turn up and play. For further details, call William on 07531 300697.

CHESS CLUB - Are you a keen chess player or would like to learn to play? If so, pop along to the chess club at the Farmers on Tuesdays from 7.30pm. All standards of players are welcome. For details, call David Hancock on 231208.

TITLEY JAZZ - This year’s Titley Jazz Festival takes place from July 20-22 at the Rodd near Presteigne. There will be many bands playing.

PLANT SALE - Plant sale and garage sale at The Pools Farm, Norton, on Sunday, 10am- 4pm. Interesting young perennial plants, books, children’s stuff, fabrics, etc.

CIVIC SERVICE - Councillor Brian Price, mayor of Presteigne and Norton, held his civic service at St Andrew’s Church, Norton, on Sunday. At the event there were mayors from all the Radnorshire towns and the chairman of the Radnorshire committee Keith Tampin as well as other special guests and local people. The service was led by Rev Melia Cope and Rev Petra Beresford-Webb.
