AT the meeting on September 6, West Mercia Housing gave an update on the affordable housing scheme at Sufton Rise.
Following the consultation event held in July several modifications had been made to the layout, including plans for the provision of a small number of allotments. Please let the clerk know if you are interested in leasing an allotment. Revised plans will be presented to the next parish council meeting on Tuesday.
The parish council has decided to have one final attempt at establishing a group of interested volunteers to help organise events at the Iron Room. If you would be interested in helping or attending events in the hall, please let either the clerk (01432 769480) or Coun Lorna Radnor, know.
Councillors are still keen to lease part of the green in the village and are in the process of negotiating a lease.
A letter has been received from Herefordshire Council indicating that the mobile library service would shortly be discontined, however it was noted that Fownhope Parish Council were investigating setting up a volunteer-run library service. The parish council supports their venture and encouraged potential users to contact the clerk.
Several ideas for how to spend the 'You Decide' money had been received. These will be included in the next newsletter delivered to all households in the Dormington and Mordiford area. Residents are asked to prioritise these ideas and the winning idea will be progressed by the parish council.
All are welcome to the next parish council meeting on October 4 in Mordiford School Hall at 7.30pm. Please note earlier time.
