Marden History Society and fete

Marden HISTORY SOCIETY - Invites you to a presentation on Monday at 7.30pm in the Community Centre, Marden, when Janet and Mark Robinson will talk about The Port of Hereford - In the Pre-railway Age, when the Wye was the only practical way to carry goods to and from Hereford and much of the surrounding district. They will discuss the nature of this trade and how for a brief time the name of Hereford appears in the columns of Lloyds Registers.

FETE - The annual event in aid of St Mary's Church is on Saturday, May 26, at Marden Community Hall, starting 2pm. Attractions will include stalls selling plants, cakes, brica- brac, books, local produce and lots of traditional games. Afternoon teas will be served.
