Madley classic vehicles and jubilee

CLASSIC VEHICLES - There will be a jubilee classic vehicle show on Saturday on the Glebe Field next to the church. Visitors are invited to bring vehicles for display between 10.30am-4.30pm. There are no entry fees, just a fun day out for owners. Bring a picnic and enjoy the rest of the events being put on by villagers. Call David or Joan Williamson on 01981 250436 or Colin Barratt on 250108.

JUBILEE - Villagers plan a day of activities embracing all age groups and bringing together the school, church, Age UK, Scouts, Cubs, Brownies, youth group, craft group etc as well as local businesses. Events include children’s sports, fancy dress parade and a mass picnic (weather permitting).

Refreshments will be available and the parish hall will display some of the long history of Madley village. There will be a coronation tea for older members of the village who can remember June 2, 1953. The craft group is producing bunting to decorate the village and the school children are producing individual pennants to their own designs. The children will be rewarded by receiving Diamond Jubilee commemorative mugs.
