PARISH COUNCIL - At the February meeting, Lynda Wilcox from Herefordshire Association of Local Councils spoke about the benefits of creating a parish plan and what was involved. The council decided to start the process, which involves consulting residents on their opinions and ideas for the future of the parish. More information will follow, including how residents can get involved. Madley Parish Hall committee detailed the proposed project to modernise the heating and insulation of the hall in order to increase its energy efficiency, as well as enhancing the facilities for users.

The next council meeting is on March 2, at 7.15pm in the parish hall. All are welcome.

COMPETITION - Madley Parish Council is holding a photography competition entitled Springtime Around Madley. It hopes to use fantastic photos of Madley for promotional purposes such as on the community website, madley.org.uk, or on the parish map display board located by Madley Cross.

Entry is by email and the closing date is May 1, with the winner being announced at the annual parish meeting on May 4. There are three categories: ages five to eight years, nine to 15, and 16-plus. One winner from each of the three categories will win a £10 book token.
