LENT - The Lent Course for 2010 began on Ash Wednesday and continues on February 25, at the Old Greyhound, Longtown. Lent lunches will be held at various venues in Longtown hosted by people from the parishes. The first lunch will be today (Thursday) in the village hall hosted by the WI. The next one will be on February 25, at the Monnow Arts Centre. Lunches will be from noon to 2pm and people can come and go as they please within those times. A donation of at least £3 is requested as all monies will be going to the Community First Responders. Longtown has two volunteers ready to be trained as responders. It is hoped the lunches will provide a generous donation towards the cost of equipping each volunteer.
CONCERT - There will be a Spring Chamber Concert for Craswall on March 6, at 7.30pm in St Michael’s Church, Michaelchurch Escley. It will feature music by Beethoven and Brahms played by three young professionals: Matthew Hunt on clarinet, cellist Amy Norrington and pianist Alasdair Beatson. Tickets are £15 and include wine and nibbles. They can be obtained from the Cart and Wheel, Craswall HR2 OPN. Please include an sae.
