HALF-TERM COURSES - Longtown Outdoor Activity Centre is offering a number of courses for local children during the half-term holiday. Those attending have been involved in kayaking, raft building, rock climbing and art. The centre provides a range of courses during most school holidays which are enjoyed by many children aged from six to 14. Longtown is indeed fortunate to have such a facility run by an excellent team of people, led by Mike Fawcett.
HALLOWEEN - There will be a Halloween Party on Saturday in the village hall from 6pm to 8pm for local children.
OUTDOOR GARDEN - Planning for the outdoor garden and environmental area at Longtown School is under way. Many parents attended the initial meeting bringing lots of ideas for this exciting project.
Recorder lessons and knitting lessons have begun at the school thanks to the enthusiasm of two local women. Jeans for Genes day raised £47. The children held their harvest festival in the local chapel on Thursday, October 22, and there were many favourable comments about their singing and good behaviour.
