WHIST - The women of Knighton Bowling Club held their Christmas whist drive at the clubhouse recently. Results were: Best lady J Powell, 2nd Dorothy Hankin, Mary-Jane Rogers, 4th Mary Grimes; Best man Reg Bowen, 2nd Robert Jones, 3rd Mildred Shepherd, 4tth Frank Evans; Lowest lady Ruth Wilding; Lowest man Andrew Wozencroft; Most fives Margaret Johnson and Ann Price; Most eights June Williams and Jean Burgoyne. Mabel Evans presented the prizes, Linda Parker MBE thanked everyone for coming and wished them all a merry Christmas. Raffle winners were Dorothy Hankin, Ruth Wilding, Mary-Jane Rogers and Frank Evans. Refreshments were given by ladies of the club. The next whist drive is today (Thursday) at 7.30pm in the bowling clubhouse.

SHORT MAT BOWLS - Knighton Short Mat Bowling Club will be holding its AGM on January 9 at 6.30pm in the church hall, Knighton. Refreshments will be available.

There will be no afternoon bowling on that day. The spring season starts on January 16, Mondays 2pm-4pm and 6.30pm-8.30pm.

New members of all ages are welcome and no previous experience is needed.
