KINGTON youngsters had their ecoprayers answered by a manufacturing giant recently when two state-of-the-art hand dryers landed on the doorstep.

The town’s primary school pupils put pen to paper following the circulation of a virus last November when concerns about hygiene and the amount of paper towels being binned arose.

So they were delighted when appliance firm Dyson wrote back and offered to install the units for free.

Headteacher Anne Phillips said: “We are a relatively small school with a small budget and the children included all of this in their persuasive letters.”

Year six pupils who wrote the letters were on hand to welcome service manager Malcolm Hurd as the dryers, which will save the school £600 a year and dry 19 pairs of hands for the price of a single paper towel, were fitted.
