PRESENTATION - Jeremy Ashford and Sue Purslow, Kington Golf Club’s 2011 men’s and women’s captains, were pleased to present a cheque for £6,350 to St Michael’s Hospice.
They raised the money from a joint charity day and auction, various raffles, a sale of Christmas wishes and other activities.
HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY - Kington and District Horticultural Society will meet tonight (Thursday) at 7.30pm in the Masonic Hall, Headbrook. The subject is Bee Medley with Len Dixon. Doors open at 7pm.
BELLY DANCING - Classes for all ages, shapes and size – no experience necessary – are held in St Mary’s Church Hall on Tuesdays from 6.30pm to 7.30pm. Contact Nancy on 01981 500113 for more details.
KINGTON U3A - The next social meeting for Kington U3A will be on February 9 at Kington Football Club. The title is Travels in the Far East with Don Syme on his experiences. All are welcome to listen to speakers and to discover new interest groups – £1 for members and £2 for non-members to include refreshments.

DEER - Animal lovers are invited to a talk about wild deer at Kington Primary School.
The town branch of Herefordshire Nature Trust hosts the talk, discussing ways to manage population while preserving a native species, at 7.30pm on January 31. Admission is free.
