FETE - Two of the most popular residents of the village of Huntington, near Kington , Werner and Natasha Guttmann, returned early from their diamond wedding
celebrations in France, so they could attend the 58th Huntington fete. The Guttmans, who have had a house in Huntington for 31 years, said: “Nothing could stop us from coming to the fete as we have
done every year since 1971.” A special presentation was made to them to mark the occasion. This year’s fete was the first to be held at Huntington Court by permission of new owners William and
Fiona Shone. The sun shone as hundreds of people enjoyed traditional activities, stalls and music from Presteigne community band Bandamani’. A record £3,500 was raised, which will be shared between
the two churches of Huntington, the village hall and Kington charities.

FETE - Huntington Fete – now in its 58th year – is at Huntington Court on Saturday from 3pm-5pm. Following nearly six decades of the Jack family running the fete, the new owners of the court,
William and Fiona Shone are welcoming the hundreds of people expected again this year. New ideas abound including a human fruit machine, a ‘How many balloons in the Fiat?’ competition and a ‘judge
the weight of the ewe’ competition using Bob Powell’s old fashioned weighing machine. Many more traditional games and stalls await. Entry is free and a free bus from Mill Street, Kington , at 2.30pm will bring people to the gates of Huntington Court.

LOCAL TALENTS RAISE THE ROOF - The magical hill-top 14th century church of St Thomas a Becket, Huntington, near Kington, was swathed in glittering candlelight,
as the church was packed with concert-goers for the memorable Music for an Autumn Evening. For the fourth year running, Paul Emery, a most talented singer, conductor and musician himself, looks for
good local musicians and actors to perform publicly, which gives them highly useful experience for their future, as well as giving the local people enormous enjoyment. Ten-year-old Honor Lewis gave
a reading. Alison and Freda, the popular duo from Kington Chorale, sang, as did tenor farmer Michael Labett with Neapolitan love songs. Rev Dennis Parry led his recorder group with amusing
variations on a number of well-known pieces.
