QUIZ - It’s quiz night at Holme Lacy Village Hall on Saturday. Doors open at 7pm for a 7.30pm start. Proceeds go to the school and the hall, with a special raffle to raise funds for Help for Heroes. VILLAGE HALL - The New Year’s Eve family party features live local band, Double Barrel. Tickets are on sale at £12 adults and £6 for children up to 11 years of age. The ticket price includes light refreshments. Tickets are available from Mrs Chris Harris on 01432 870283. For catering purposes, tickets need to be purchased before the event, and they will not be available on the door.

HALLOWEEN PARTY - A children’s Halloween party is on October 31 at the village hall from 6pm. There will be lots of spooky activities. Tickets are £2 per person with children to be accompanied by an adult.

PRIMARY SCHOOL - On Friday, September 25, at the coffee morning for Macmillan Cancer Support, the primary school children made cakes at the school. On the day, they came to the village hall in a succession of small groups to sell their produce for the charity. They decorated the outside of the hall with balloons. These charming children had no difficulty selling the cakes.

MACMILLAN COFFEE MORNING - Organised by Mrs Val Watts, Holme Lacy Village Hall committee donated the use of the hall. Holme Lacy Primary School made and sold cakes. Villagers drank coffee and ate cakes. The result was £365 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
