DAY FOR CHANGE - Just before half term pupils of Gladestry Church in Wales Primary School laid aside school uniform for more casual wear.
As part of UNICEF’s Day for Change, the youngsters and staff wore pyjamas and dressing gowns. Everyone gave a donation to raise money for children in Mozambique where only half have access to clean drinking water and one in three girls don’t get the opportunity to go to school. The pupils have been finding out where Mozambique is and how to get there. They organised a ‘sleep-over’ and wrote their own lullabies and bedtime stories. The enterprising youngsters also made alarm clocks. UNICEF (United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund) is the world’s leading organisation focusing on children and child rights, with a presence in more than 190 countries and territories.
