NATIVITY - This year’s nativity play was a little different for Gladestry Church in Wales Primary School. The children began with Silent Night, moving into humorous drama and lively songs. St Mary’s rocked as the pupils gave a spirited rendition of Hosanna Rock (with the help of three ‘cool guys’), Travelling Along, Ride Little Donkey, A Starry Night, A Gift for a King and You Are My Brother.
At the end, Rev Mark Beaton gave a vote of thanks to everyone involved.
He told the children: “You’ve put a smile on all of our faces.” The afternoon concluded with Mark giving the blessing.
NEW YEAR’S EVE - There will be a short time of prayer and meditation at St Mary’s Church, Gladestry, beginning at 11.45pm when in the words of St Augustine of Hippo we will “Trust the past to God’s mercy, the present to God’s love, and the future to God’s providence”. Afterwards refreshments will be served at Church barn.
Everyone is welcome.
