MACMILLAN COFFEE MORNING - Pupils at Gladestry Church in Wales Primary School raised £113.08 at their Macmillan coffee morning. Thanks to everyone who helped or supported this special event.

HARVEST - St Mary’s Church celebrates harvest tomorrow (Friday) with guest preacher Rev Catherine Haynes, incumbent of Irfon valley and Blaenau Irfon. This will be followed by a harvest supper at the village hall, adults £5 children £2.50. All proceeds to be divided between Water Aid and Christian Aid.

FARMERS’ MARKET - The next farmers’ market is on November 7, 10am to 1pm at the village hall. Refreshments are available with fresh produce, meats and crafts on sale.

LAY READER - Mrs Christine Gould will be licensed as lay reader at Brecon cathedral on Saturday at 3pm. A coach leaves the Royal Oak car park, Gladestry, at 1.15pm. More information from Rev Mark Beaton on 01544 350342.

BOWLS - Short mat bowls autumn meetings are on October 27, November 10 and 24, and December 8. Sessions cost £2. More information from Michael and Betty Johnson on 01544 370296.

WALK - A walk organised by Powys Four Wells Ramblers is on Saturday from Gladestry to Newchurch then Colva and back to Gladestry. Leave 10am from village hall car park. Expect to return about 3.30pm.
