PARISH COUNCIL - The monthly meeting was held in the memorial hall in February with Councillor Paul Sheen in the chair. Segonzac twinning: It is hoped that a proposed visit from a small number of representatives from Segonzac can be arranged in the near future. Parish freighter: The parish councils of Abbeydore and Kentchurch have indicated that due to increased costs they may have to review their use of the services. They wish to know Ewyas Harold’s plans for the service so the clerk will inform them of various options being considered.
Dog fouling and signs: It was decided to place an article in the parish newsletter informing the public about recent developments and changes concerning problems associated with dog fouling. The Dogs Trust will be approached about appropriate signage.
Local security: Councillors were concerned to hear that there will no longer be a police response officer working from Peterchurch; officers are now working from Ross-on-Wye and will be deployed to the Golden Valley only when required. There will be a full copy of the letter in the parish newsletter.
The next meeting of the parish council will be on Tuesday, at 7.15pm, in the memorial hall.
LENT LUNCHES - The series of six Lent studies continues today (Thursday), starting at noon in the Baptist hall. This week the subject to be considered will be Jesus and Negative Equity. All are welcome to come to the studies and to enjoy the soup lunch served at 1pm.
