  coffee morning and a talk on bees with the opportunity to get up close to an active hive. Further plans were discussed regarding the new children’s allotment. February 27 was set for the second
  AGM, in the Swan pub at 7.30pm, followed by a general meeting.

  VILLAGE HALL - In association with Arts Alive, the Northumberland Theatre Company will be presenting Hansel and Gretel in the village hall tomorrow (Friday). The performance starts at 7pm. Tickets
  are obtainable at the Village Stores, costing £8 for adults and £4 for children. Further information from Paul Cheetham 01544 327413. Once again the Christmas lunch was very successful and raised
  more than £150 for the charity Hereford Open Door. Future Sunday lunches will be on February 12, April 15, October 14 and December 16. The next meeting of Eardisley Group Parish Council will be in the hall at 7.30pm on Monday. When the WI gathers for its January meeting, Nick Baker will be speaking on the subject of
  alternative energy in Eardisley.

  CHURCH - A very well attended Christmas bazaar took place in Saint Mary Magdalene Church on December 10. The service of nine lessons and carols will be on Sunday, at 6.30pm. Wednesday, carol
  singers will be going round the village. Proceeds from the money they hope to collect will be donated to CLIC, a charity which supports children and young people who suffer from cancer.

  EARDISLAND IN BLOOM - The group met in The Swan pub on December 5, to formulate plans for next year with a new record of thirteen in attendance. The secretary gratefully acknowledged receipt of
  £175 to date in donations from local businesses which will be used to help further improve the local environment over the next few months. A date of May 19, was agreed for a new plant and seed swop
  to be held in the village hall, whilst further plans were discussed for a bee keeping open day next June. Spring bulbs have been planted around the junction with Burton Lane and a sizeable part of
  the new children's allotment has been turned over, with the remainder covered for the winter period. The group will next meet on January 11, at 7.30pm in the Cross Inn.
