VILLAGE WARDEN - This valuable service helps elderly people who are housebound or in need of support, with shopping, filling in forms to claim benefits and many other tasks – even a fish and chip delivery once a week.
To learn more about the service and to support the work of the Red Cross, go along to St Michael’s Hall on Saturday from 2.30pm- 4.30pm for a cream tea and strawberries and cream as well as cakes, plants, tombola and local crafts. All are welcome including children.
ORGAN RECITALS - Every Saturday in August there will be an organ recital at Dore Abbey with coffee at 10.30am and recital at 11am.
This is the year of the young recitalist starting on Saturday with Douglas Tang, organ scholar at Hereford Cathedral.
COUNTRY FAIR - To be held at Whitfield on Sunday. Call and have a cup of tea at the church stall beside the Whitfield ring where cakes, jam, marmalade and apple juice will be for sale. Bacon butties will be served in the morning and cream teas in the afternoon.
All money raised will be divided between St Devereux and Wormbridge churches and will help kick off the spire appeal for Wormbridge.
