Ewyas Harold primary school, Dore community transport, barbecue, cafe, and ECE consort

PRIMARY SCHOOL - Thanks go to Helen Manns and Ann Ponting for all their help with the organisation of the school festival. New families have been welcomed to fun sessions in the early years’ forest school site, giving them the opportunity to meet staff and buddies. This week there will be a teddy bears’ picnic. Parents new and old are welcome at the leavers’ assembly tomorrow (Friday) at 1.20pm.

DORE COMMUNITY TRANSPORT - This service takes non-drivers to medical appointments, to visit relatives or on a much-needed shopping trip. It is desperately in need of more drivers. If you are able to give just a few hours a week to drive your own car or the specially adapted MPV vehicle, contact Jo on 01981 551963.

BARBECUE - Come on Saturday from 6.30pm-8pm for good food and friendly company in the grounds of the historic church of St James Llangua by the peaceful Monnow River. Price £5 to include food, salad, dessert and a glass of wine. Afterward, there will be informal worship in the candlelit church.

CAFE SERVICE - On Sunday in the Baptist Chapel starting at 10.30am.

ECE CONSORT - The English Choral Experience week at Dore Abbey will include priced events at 9pm on Monday, Tuesday and next Thursday, and at 6.15pm on July 27, each lasting about an hour and followed by compline with the ECE Consort (director, Paul Spicer). The consort will also sing at the 10am group service on July 31 led by Rev Frank Rodgers and Rev Dennis Monger. For more details, visit englishchoralexperience.
