PRIMARY SCHOOL - Mr David Beddard is the new school improvement adviser who will work with the school to support school development. The progress made by pupils last year puts the school in the top 30 per cent of schools nationally for progress in English and the top 14 per cent in maths.
Well done to all the pupils and staff. Together with the Baptist Chapel the school produced 23 Christmas shoe boxes, so thanks to all parents who gave so generously. With the end of term fast approaching the school is off to the Courtyard to see Sleeping Beauty on Monday. Years one, two and three will be presenting Soldiers in a Foreign Land next Wednesday and having a Carol Service in St Michael’s Church next Thursday at 2pm when everyone is welcome to join in.
MACMILLAN COFFEE MORNING TODAY - At Bacton Hall today (Thursday), 10am - 12noon. There will be a Christmas Floral Demonstration and lots of stalls.
CHRISTMAS WREATH - Please come and collect your pre-ordered wreath this Saturday from St Michael’s Hall between 10am - 12noon. There will be some stalls for last minute shopping and free coffee and biscuits.
CAROL SERVICES - On Sunday 3pm at Dore Abbey and Rowlestone at 6pm.
BIBLE STUDY - The next meeting is on next Tuesday at 10am at the Rectory followed by coffee and prayers from 11.45am.
WOMEN’S INSTITUTE - June Meyrick is the new President for 2012 and she will be leading the Christmas celebrations at lunch next Tuesday.
SMARTWATER SIGNS - These are now available from Peterchurch Police Station cost £17.50p, contact PC Fiona Witcher.
