PARISH COUNCIL - The November meeting was told the Red Cross has still not submitted an impact assessment for the village warden scheme to Herefordshire Council adult social care. Concern again raised over need for repair of footpath stile in Priorsfield.
CSO Kate Middleton reported on a number of offences in the area. Three venues (apart from the Pavillion) have been offered to provide community library space at cost only – the Memorial Hall, Horsecroft and St Michael’s Hall. A questionnaire will be circulated for return by mid December with a follow- up meeting on December 15, 7pm in the Pavilion.
SCHOOL LANE PARKING - Parish councillors were given an update on actions taken and feedback received on this problem.
PRECEPT FOR 2012/13 - A preliminary draft was presented to councillors and will be discussed at the next meeting of the council at the Pavilion on December 6.
PRIMARY SCHOOL - November 14-18 was anti-bullying week and this year the focus has been on verbal bullying when words are used to deliberately cause someone hurt and distress. Throughout the week pupils focused on the issues of bullying and how to tackle it in assemblies and Circle Times.
Happy Feet was shown at film club and on Monday Museum on the Move will be visiting the school.
COFFEE MORNING - At the Baptist Chapel, 10am-noon on Saturday, with a Christmas theme.
POP-IN EXTRA - Our Christmas pop-in is at the Methodist Chapel on Saturday, 2pm- 4pm, when there will be lots of stalls including bathroom, books, cakes, jewellery, preserves and Fairtade goods.
CAFE SERVICE - The Baptist Chapel will be having a special service at 10.30am on Sunday with preacher Rev Matt Powell.
CHURCHES TOGETHER - The popular Advent service is in the Memorial Hall on Sunday at 3pm. This year’s theme will be the Crescendo of Advent. A special choir has been practicing for weeks and the service will be followed by light refreshments.
LIGHT UP A LIFE - At St Michael’s Church at 7pm, on Wednesday the preacher will be from St Michael’s Hospice. For a loved one to be included in the book of remembrance for this service there are cards at the back of church to be filled in by tomorrow (Friday).
