PRIMARY SCHOOL - Thanks go to all who donated produce for the harvest sale; the school council chose to send money raised to Water Aid. Donated Tesco and Sainsbury vouchers have been swapped for a variety of sports equipment. In the Golden Valley knockout football we beat Kingstone 3-1 in the semi-final, drew 2-2 with Clifford in the final and won on penalties thanks to a spectacular save by Reuben Ritchie. In the netball, the girls won through to the semi-final .
MEN’S BREAKFAST - On Saturday at 8am in the Baptist Chapel Hall share a cooked breakfast together.
AUTUMN FAIR - Buy your Christmas presents and order Christmas wreaths at St Michael’s Hall on Saturday, 10am to noon.
CONSULTATION - The PCC and Friends of Dore Abbey invite parishioners and members of the public to a presentation of plans for a facilities building to contain toilets, a kitchen and a museum to house the stone collection.
The meeting is on Saturday at 2.30pm at Dore Abbey.
CONFIRMATION - Assistant Bishop Michael Bourke will be presiding at the confirmation service on Sunday at Dore Abbey. A large congregation is expected with many candidates from across three benefices.
BIBLE STUDY - The next is to be held on Tuesday at the Rectory, starting with coffee at 10am and continuing with prayers from 11.45am.
WI - In October members had a harvest supper and sale of harvest goods, the proceeds of which were donated to Barrs Court School.
There followed an informal harvest service with appropriate readings and hymns. The group’s AGM on Tuesday will elect officers and plan events for the forthcoming year.
