Ewyas Harold

12:00pm Thursday 11th February 2010

PRIMARY SCHOOL - Class four hasbeen to visit Kingstone High School where, as part of their liaison day, pupils explored the theme of chocolate.

They were able to bring what they had learned back to Ewyas Harold where the school is learning about the production of chocolate and the issue of Fairtrade. On Wednesday ‘police bear’ visited school accompanied by PC Griffiths to remind children about road safety. Joanne Dainty, Wildlife Watch organiser at Herefordshire Nature Trust, is hoping to set up a group in our area. Watch groups meet once a month for a few hours to explore and investigate the local wildlife and environment.

Enthusiasm for helping children to engage with their environment is what she is looking for so that knowledge about wildlife care can be learned along the way. If you are interested in becoming a wildlife watch leader, contact Herefordshire Nature Trust on 01432 356872, not the school.

DOWN THE SEVERN - Last chance to buy tickets for the illustrated talk by Brian Draper tonight (Thursday), 7.30pm, in St Michael’s Church – don’t forget your cushion. Tickets are £6.50 from Mailes Butchers or the village shop.
