PRIMARY SCHOOL - All the Christmas performances were a roaring success, much enjoyed by pupils, staff, and parents. However it was with regret that we had to say goodbye to Miss Milroy, though we wish her every happiness in her new teaching post. A new term has begun and we have welcomed a new teacher, Miss C Morris, to teach year five. Instead of recycling your unwanted jam jars please donate them to class two. It will be interesting to see what they will do with them.
RAINBOW ARTS - After the Christmas break this popular club began again on January 6. If you missed the first one, don’t worry, as it happens every Wednesday from 10am-noon in the Baptist Hall and all artists of differing abilities are welcome.
KOFFI POT - Resumes tomorrow (Friday), 10am-noon, in the Baptist Hall. It is a time to meet with friends in a cosy, warm environment.
JAM CLUB - A new term begins tomorrow (Friday) in the Baptist Hall, from 6.30pm-8pm for age seven to 11 years and 8-9.30pm for 11 to 14-year-olds.
All enquiries to Rev Matt Powell.
ALL-AGE SERVICE - It was wonderful to have a full church for the Christingle service on Christmas Eve with all ages joining together. The first all-age service of the new year will be on Sunday in St Michael’s Church, starting at 10am. This is an informal service for everyone, the young and the young at heart, with a chance to take part in the worship or just to join in, with a welcome cup of coffee included.
BENEFICE BIBLE STUDY - The January meeting will be at the rectory on Tuesday, 10am-11.15am, then having a break for a cup of coffee before regrouping for prayers from 11.45am- 12.15pm. All are welcome for the whole or part of the morning.
WOMEN’S INSTITUTE - Members ended 2009 with a successful Christmas lunch at the Park Hotel.
Their first meeting in 2010 is on January 12, at 7.30pm in the memorial hall when they will be discussing the resolutions to be considered for the national meeting and sharing a lighthearted quiz. The WI’s meetings are open to everyone so why not go along and help to swell the numbers. You will be made most welcome.
