SALE AND COFFEE - Eardisley and District branch of the Royal British Legion holds its spring sale in the village hall on Saturday from 10.30am. Great bargains in plants and cakes plus books, bric-a-brac, tombola and grand draw. Entry fee £1 includes coffee and biscuits.

SOCIAL WHIST DRIVE - Results of the whist drive held in New Strand on April 29. Winners were Sue Davies, Chris Horton, Jean Chant, Sandra Payne, Trevor Chant and Sue Holdaway. The next event will be on May 20, and not the last Monday in the month.

CHURCH - A beautiful winter morning attracted many visitors to the Christmas bazaar in the church on Saturday. Prize winners in the quarterly draw were Mrs C Morris, Mrs J Banbury, Mrs B Williams, Mrs C Wood, Mrs R Pearce, Mr G Doody, Mrs V Parsons, Mrs M Fenton, Mr P Whittal and Mrs C Gale.

BAZAAR - There is a Christmas bazaar in St Mary Magdalene Church from 10am until noon on Saturday. Festive items include cakes, Christmas flowers, gifts, Traidcraft and tombola.

WHIST - There was an excellent attendance at the whist drive in the New Strand on November 19, when prizes were won by Bryn Thomas, Margery Phillips, Sue Holdaway, Jinks Price, Kath Jenkins and Muriel Fenton.

COFFEE MORNING - Betty Williams would like to thank everyone who came to her home, The Wain House, on Friday and everyone who generously donated a wide variety of goods for sale and cash donations, raising £310 for Macmillan Cancer Support.

COFFEE - Tomorrow (Friday) at 10am, Betty Williams is holding her annual coffee morning in aid of Macmillan, at her home The Wainhouse, near Eardisley Church. There will be a variety of plants, cakes, preserves and bric-a-brac, as well as a raffle. Tea, coffee and biscuits will be served as part of the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning.
