Eardisland in bloom, diamond jubilee, pact, bowling, children's allotment, variety show postponed

DIAMOND JUBILEE - The itinerary for the jubilee celebrations starts on Saturday, June 2, with a Dazzling Diamond Disco at Lynch Court, dancing the night away to tunes from the 60s. On Sunday, June 3, there is a jubilee service at St Mary’s Church, coffee and cake and a jubilee flower exhibition, then a family fun afternoon/evening at the White Swan with traditional games, hog roast and live music. On June 4, the day comprises an Olympic-style village parade, giant village picnic and games, princes’ and princesses’ fancy dress, the coronation of village king and queen (under-16s only), a screening of the jubilee concert and the Museum on the Move.
Eardisland IN BLOOM - A plant swap and sale on Saturday was well attended. Dozens of plants were donated for village planting and more than £80 raised in sales. £42 raised from the sale of refreshments has been donated to local charity ECHO.
BOWLING - Despite the heavy rains, Eardisland Bowling Club played twice last week, winning at Knighton and three days later losing at home to a strong Ledbury side.
The away win, 58 shots to 46, included three winning rinks, two by the identical score 15- 10 by skip Tony Stokes, playing with Lynda Lynne, Alan Holloway and Doug Tantrum and Stan Hall, teaming up with Wendy Powell, Derek Bray and and Jayne Sharp. The Ledbury defeat by 67-82 included one winning rink, Phil Sharp skipping Rachel Kruft- Welton, Robin Adams and Cheryl Morgan to a 30-17 win.
PACT - Kington Rural local police team’s monthly PACT surgery is between 3pm-4pm today (Thursday) at Eardisland Community shop.
CHILDREN’S ALLOTMENT - The next session is on Saturday at 10am. Children will be painting a sign for their own small flowerbed and planting some pumpkins, beans, and flowers. Weather permitting, all children with parents/grandparents in tow are welcome.
Drink and biscuit provided.
POSTPONED - The Variety Show scheduled for Saturday has been postponed.
