8:00am Thursday 17th May 2012 in E - F
PLANTS - Eardisland In Bloom is holding a plant swap and sale in the village hall on Saturday, 10am-noon. If you have excess plants for your requirements and would like to swap them for different varieties, or simply wish to sell them for cash, then please reserve a table. Buyers are very welcome to grab a bargain. Entrance is free to all, with sellers being asked to donate a small quantity of plants to In Bloom for its summer planting programme. Tea, coffee and cakes are available, with profits from refreshments being donated to charity. Enquiries to Phil Milchard on 01544 388097.
BOWLING - Eardisland Bowling Club recorded its first win of the season, defeating a plucky Hereford side 62 shots to 44. The match went ahead due to the great efforts of greenkeeper Tony Stokes, despite several hours of rain throughout the day, with the green playing remarkably well. The winning rinks were shared two each, with Jonathan Farndon skipping the best rink of Cheryl Morgan, John Hill and Dave Bray 25-7, whilst Phil Sharp was also in good form, assisted by Wendy Powell, Phil Lynne and Phil Milchard, winning 17-7.
