BINGO - The Young Farmers’ Club has a bingo evening in the village hall tomorrow (Friday). Doors open at 6.45pm, eyes down at 7.30pm. A raffle and refreshments will be available. Call Claire for further information on 07891 826513.

SOCIAL WHIST CLUB - There was a record attendance at the New Strand on March 19.

Prizes were won by Jean Owens, Irene Hills, Rose Howells, Gwen Farmer, Betty Lane and Diane Jenkins. The next whist drive will be on April 23. Play starts at 7.45pm.

SUNDAY LUNCHES - Dates for the popular Sunday lunches are April 15, June 10, October 14 and December 16. Tickets will be on sale at Eardisley Village Stores.

MACULAR DISEASE - A coffee morning to raise funds for the society, on the 25th anniversary of its foundation, was held recently at Langtoft, the home of Rodney and Ann Wood, when £80 was raised.

SPORT RELIEF - Sunday’s Sport Relief event at Eardisley Tennis Club was a great success.

Not only was the weather superb but more than 50 entrants completed the one, three, and six-mile courses in good time and with no injuries. On the day it’s estimated that just under £200 was collected from sales of home-made refreshments, some late entry fees and donations.
