True Grit showing at Eardisley Village Hall

CINEMA - The film in the village hall, on Friday, December 16, is True Grit. It stars Jeff Bridges, Matt Damon, Hailee Steinfield and Josh Brolin. Doors open at 7pm and the show starts at 7.30pm.

SOCIAL WHIST DRIVE - There was a good attendance at the whist drive held at the New Strand on November 28. Prizes were won by Margaret Kerrigan, Mary Gatees, Muriel Fenton, Margaret Goode Trevor Chant and Sandra Payne.Will players please note that the next event is on Monday, December 19, and not the last Monday in the month.

CHURCH BAZAAR - The Christmas Bazaar will take place in the church on Saturday, at 10am until noon. Refreshments, including mulled wine and mince pies will be served.

On sale there will be Christmas gifts and cards, cakes , produce and books. There will also be tombola. On Saturday, December 17, decorating of the church will commence at 10am Offers of greenery will be much appreciated.

The winners in the Eardisley Church Quarterly draw were Mrs M Hamond, Mr and Mrs D Hodgson, Mrs E Grigg Mrs J Burgoyne, Mr and Mrs M Mason, Mr E Cardwell, Mrs C McKay, Mrs A Hicks, Mrs D Raymond and Mr S Layton.
