Eardisley and District Royal British Legion holds its AGM

ROYAL BRITISH LEGION - The next meeting of the Eardisley and District branch will be the AGM in the New Strand at 7.30pm. This year the Remembrance Sunday service will be at Almeley Church on November 13, followed by lunch in the village hall at 1pm. The lunch cost is £10 and booking is essential .

NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH - On Monday there will be a neighbourhood watch meeting 7.30pm in the New Strand. Everyone is welcome.

HISTORY GROUP - The meeting at the New Strand at 7.30pm on Wednesday will be an open meeting on the history of Eardisley’s railway, which closed in 1962.

WI - The annual meeting will be on November 10. During the evening there will be a stall of gifts and cards from WI House.

This will include a selection of new books.

SERVICES - The Methodist Church Service at 11am will be conducted by Mr Stone on November 6, Rev Chesworth on November 13 with Holy Communion, Ms Smith on November 20 and Mr Weston on November 27.

APPEAL - Once again it is time to fill shoeboxes with small inexpensive items to bring some joy to a child at Christmas. Please fill and wrap your parcels and leave them with Joyce Banbury at 5 Millstream Gardens or the back of the church by November 17.
