Newcomer to Tillington, sculptor Antony Halls is already handcrafting original designs using casting resin for orders for Christmas. At last weeks Kington Show, Antony also demonstrated his skill as a model maker whilst working on a commissioned piece depicting Thunderbird’s Jeff Tracy as Father Christmas. Fellow member Alison Payne also from Tillington displayed her eye-catching hand made jewellery in the craft tent.

CAR BOOT - The first of the summer car boot sales at Credenhill takes place today (Thursday). Starting at 6pm on the car park adjacent to the village hall and social club. Booters can set up their stalls free of charge from 5pm.

MUSIC - At a committee meeting at Credenhill social club, the concert that took place on the May 28 by the Helen Veriker singers was discussed and all agreed that it was a very successful night with everyone in attendance having a very enjoyable evening as well as managing to collect over £200 for St Michael's Hospice.

BALL - Taste for Adventure is holding a summer ball on September 10 to honour a peak achievement by its founder. Bosses will mark the 35th anniversary of “Brummie and Bronco’s” ascent of Everest with a corporate fund-raiser. Former SAS soldier J H “Brummie” Stokes founded the centre in 1991 to give underprivileged children a taste of adventure. For details, call 01432 761398.

ANNUAL MEETING - Credenhill Social and Sports Club will be holding its AGM on Sunday at 7pm, to elect the chairman and committee and appoint trustees for the coming year. Members are requested to arrive in plenty of time for a prompt start and to bring their membership cards as proof of being a paid-up member.

DANCE - A barn dance in aid of St Mary’s Church and the hall will be held at Credenhill Community Centre on Saturday from 7.30pm to midnight with music by Whiffeldy.
