FINAL FREIGHTER - The freighter will be on the car park in the village centre on Saturday, 11am to 1pm, to accept household waste from parishioners. No commercial/industrial waste, liquids, hazardous or dangerous waste.This is the last visit of this subsidised service.

BORDERLINES FILM FESTIVAL - Dorstone Village Hall is hosting Borderlines Film Festival with In the Loop tomorrow (Friday). A political farce based on the TV series In the Thick of it, it is directed by Armando Iannucci. We then have a live event on March 20, sponsored by Arts Alive.

SERVICE - There is to be a family praise service at Castle Frome Church on Sunday at 11.20am and you are asked to bring a picture of Jesus’ mother, Mary. Coffee, tea and squash will be served at the close of the service and all are welcome.

PARISH COUNCIL - During public participation it was reported that there were a number of potholes in the roads, particularly Birchill Road and Gosmore Road along the bus route.

COUNTRY MARKET - It was lovely to see such an amazing turnout at February’s Market and thanks go to everyone who came. The next market will take place on Saturday, 10am to 1pm, at Clifford Community Centre. It promises to be really exciting as alongside the regular stalls organisers are not only welcoming back some old favourites but also expecting some new stalls as well. To book a table at the market, contact Andrew Craven on 01497 831225. In addition this month, Deborah Davies, the community safety advisor for Herefordshire, will be on hand to provide advice about fire safety.

FLICKS - As part of the Borderlines Film Festival programme, the film Up (certificate U) will be shown in the Cedar Hall tomorrow (Friday) at 7.30pm. This is an award-winning cartoon for all ages. Grumpy old widower Carl ties helium balloons to his house to avoid being sent to an old people’s home. He flies off to South America accompanied by a cute eight-year-old stowaway. A delightful combination of wry humour, deft characterisation and adventure.
