AUCTION - A charity auction will be held today (Thursday) to help buy a vital scanner for medical first responders. Mercia Accident Rescue Service (MARS) is made up of practitioners who turn out to incidents such as crashes around Herefordshire and Worcestershire, delivering emergency care to the injured. The group needs to raise £12,000 for a portable ultrasound machine, which will help volunteers make important lifesaving decisions about how to treat seriously injured patients. Among the lots at the auction at the Bell Inn, are a hot air balloon flight, the use of a Jaguar for a weekend and a spa day for two at Holme Lacy House.

COUNCIL – Tonight (Thursday) Bosbury and Coddington Parish Council meets at 7.30pm in the parish hall. Everyone is welcome to attend. CONCERT – Tomorrow (Friday), Music for All is back with a lighthearted concert at Bosbury Church, giving musicians of all ages and abilities the chance to perform in front of a friendly audience. Starting at 6.30pm, entrance is free with a retiring collection. Traditional Bosbury refreshments will be served. SUMMER SENSATION – Saturday sees Ledbury deanery’s big event, at Bosbury House, by permission of Nat and Laura Hone. At 4pm there is free afternoon entry for the family to enjoy a diamond pageant for the diamond Queen with local children taking part. Cream teas will be for sale. From 6pm, with £10 entry, the Bosbury Players present an evening entertainment, reflecting the royal history of England. Bring your own picnic to enjoy on the lawns. A bar will be provided. SUMMER FAIR - On July 14, a summer fair takes place at Bosbury Primary School from 1pm to 3pm. Lots of fun for all the family including circus entertainment provided by Splats with workshops where you can learn to juggle; spin a plate; walk on stilts and lots more. Other attractions include a pig roast, bouncy castle and grand draw.

PAGEANTRY - Shakespeare and English pageantry are promised for a summer spectacular at Bosbury. The “Big Event” will take place at Bosbury House, when local schools join forces with the Bosbury Players to entertain, in an atmosphere of cream teas and picnics on the lawn. CHRISTMAS FAIR – On Saturday at Bosbury Parish Hall, 10am to noon. Father Christmas will arrive at 10.30am with a present for each child. Stalls sell gifts, crafts, decorations, plants and garlands, cards, cakes and Christmas produce. CHARITY EVENING - At Bosbury Parish Hall on October 4 there will be a fund-raising event in aid of The Donkey Sanctuary, a national and international rescue charity. BEAVERS - There was a double celebration for Bosbury 1st Beavers, holding a jubilee party and investiture ceremony on the same evening. The group, which started in April, invited assistant district commissioner Maureen Puffet to preside over the ceremony which saw all 16 children and five leaders make their Scout promise before family and friends. Each child and leader received their specially designed group neckerchief. The group meets on Mondays from 6pm-7pm in Bosbury Parish Hall.

SCOUTS - Plans are underway to create a brand new Beaver Scout group in Bosbury, the first Scout group in the village for decades. The inaugural meeting is set to take place on April 23, St George’s Day, in the village hall. Organisers are looking for children (aged six to eight) to join the group along with adults keen to volunteer time to help run it.
