COUNCIL - Following the resignation of Katy Wrathall there is a vacancy on Bodenham Parish Council. Anyone who would like to serve should contact parish clerk Chris Smith on 01568 797132 or email fork.lightning@ gmail.com.
KIOSK - The telephone box opposite the England’s Gate pub has now been adopted by the parish council and has been renovated.
The next step is to find a new use (or uses) for it. Pictures created by children at St Michael’s School will be displayed in the kiosk shortly. It has also been proposed that the box be used as a book exchange and that a small noticeboard be installed. Any comments or other suggestions should go to parish clerk Chris Smith, as above.
LEISURE CLUB - July 23 sees the club in the parish hall at 1pm for a lunch, followed by a chance to chat, visit the sales table, buy raffle tickets and have a cup of tea. Visitors are welcome at £3 to include lunch. On August 13 the club will have its annual seaside trip, this year to Llandudno. The coach leaves the parish hall at 9.30am and departs Llandudno at 4pm. The cost will be £14. Visitors and newcomers will be welcome.
ROMANIA SUPPORT GROUP - On Monday the group will hold its AGM at 14 Brockington Road at 7pm. Visitors are welcome. Next Thursday there will be a knit-in at 14 Brockington Road from 2pm-4pm. There are no charges and wool can be provided. Spare rug or knitting wool will always be gratefully received. Call chairman Pat Horrigan on 01568 797044.
Bodenham to add MARKET - A produce market and table sale, starts on Saturday, 9am-10am, at Bodenham Parish Hall. Sellers should arrive from 8.40am and clear by 10.20am. Sell vegetables, fruit, preserves, baking and anything else within reason. Entry is free: doors open at 9am. Sellers are asked to donate around 10 per cent of their takings up to a maximum of £10 towards hall rent. If you wish to donate items, you can give them to the hall table. This will be a four-week trial to see if it takes off. Call Mary Nickols on 01568 797144 with any queries.
