Bodenham council, dance, flicks in the sticks and gardening
9:30am Thursday 29th March 2012 in Bodenham
COUNCIL - Thirty Bodenham residents recently took part in a very successful litter pick organised by the parish council. They collected 37 bags of rubbish, three large tyres, a piece of a girder and various other items too large to fit in the bags. Volunteers were rewarded with soup and rolls. Some fly-tipped rubbish was also found containing mail with the names and addresses of the recipients. These have been reported to Herefordshire Council, which intends to take action. Another litter pick will be held at a date yet to be decided. The next parish council meeting will be held at 7.30pm on Monday at the Siward James Centre.
Everyone is welcome to raise any matters of concern during the slot reserved for this purpose.
Parishioners can raise matters in advance by contacting parish clerk Chris Smith on 01568 797132 or at fork.lightning@ gmail.com.
DANCE - Bodenham social sequence dancers will be holding a dance at the parish hall on Saturday, at 8pm, to celebrate five years of dancing and charity fund-raising. Proceeds are currently being donated to the Midlands Air Ambulance. Call 01432 880373 or 880970 for details.
FLICKS IN THE STICKS - At Bodenham Parish Hall on April 13, see War Horse (12A) and on May 11 The Iron Lady (12A). Suggestions for other films are always welcome and should be passed to the organisers.
GARDENING - The next gardening club meeting will be in the parish hall on Tuesday from 7.30pm. The topic of the evening will be new herbaceous perennials with John Sutton plus the daffodil show. There will be a sales table, raffle and excellent refreshments. New members are always welcome.
