WALKING WEEKEND - Despite a gloomy weather forecast parishioners weren’t deterred and a good number turned out to enjoy mainly dry, bright weather for Aymestrey’s first walking weekend.

CHURCH SERVICE – Next Sunday is Rogation Sunday and a service of Holy Communion with rogation prayers will take place at Aymestrey Church at 11am.

NATURE TRUST – The Aymestrey branch of the Nature Trust will meet today, Thursday, at 7.30pm when Robin Strachen will talk on Animal Tracks.

QUIZ NIGHT - The March quiz night takes place tomorrow at 8pm in the parish hall. The charge for teams of up to four members is £5. Although refreshments are served at half time team members are welcome to bring alcoholic assistance if desired.

GAMES NIGHT - The first pub games night of 2013 is in Aymestrey Parish Hall on Saturday from 7pm. There will be an opportunity to take part in the old fashioned pub games such as quoits, bar billiards and darts. The hall has purchased a new tabletop football game for players to try out. It is always a fun night, with soups and puddings served halfway through.

QUIZ - The first quiz night of the year takes place in the parish hall tomorrow (Friday) at 8pm. Entry fee for teams of up to four members is £5. Tea, coffee and biscuits will be available but team members are welcome to provide their own alcohol. There will be a cash prize for the winning team and also a prize draw.

QUIZ - This year’s Christmas quiz is tomorrow (Friday) in the parish hall, at 8pm. Many of the questions are related to the season and contestants bring festive goodies to eat and drink. Mince pies will be served at half time and the raffle will have plenty of Christmas-related prizes.
