Almeley trips, fete and whist club

TRIPS - A trip to the Museum of Mechanical Music next Thursday, July 12, leaves the village hall at 9am. Entry to the museum is £6.30 and the cost for the coach wil lbe between £10 and £12 according to the numbers travelling on it. Further details from Rita Pressnell 01544327511 or email firstname.lastname@example.org On August 2, there is a trip to Oxford with the bell ringers, to which everyone is invited. It will leave the village hall at 8am and will return from Oxford at about 6pm with plenty of time for sightseeing and shopping.

FETE - Almeley Village Fete is on August 19.
There will be a car boot and the stall booking charge is £5. Please contact Sandra Payne to book a place.
WHIST CLUB - The summer series of whist drives ended on June 26. Prizes were won by Evelyn Exton, Anne Preece, Nickie Handley, Rose Howells Gwen Thomas, Clive Edwards, Olive Howells, Jim Price, Margaret Kerrigan and Phil Farmer. This has been a successful series, as a result of which £270 has been donated to Acorns Children’s Hospice.
Hopefully, play will resume on September 4.
