LUNCH – A capacity crowd at the village hall enjoyed an excellent three-course meal prepared and served by local women. For the last six years there has been no rise in the charge for the hire of the hall but since April 1, the hourly rate is £9 per hour. Hire for a party and setting up will be £70 plus £25 for the use of the bar. To hire the hall for a children's party will be £30.
WI - At the next meeting of Almeley WI on April 19, there will be a talk and display on natural bodycare products, and the competition is for a small jug. Anyone wishing to find out more about the Almeley WI will be warmly welcomed at meetings.
SCHOOL - The new headteacher at Almeley Primary School, Mr Maund, takes up his position when the new term starts on April 18.
