JUBILEE - Almeley Village Hall committee and Almeley Parish Council are making plans for a bring-and-share party on June 3, outside the village hall, to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. Past celebrations in this form have been highly successful. Anyone willing to offer help, in any form, should contact Sandra Payne on 01544 340645.

WHIST CLUB - Winners in the village hall on March 20 were Beryl Lewis, Chris Evans, Margaret Kerrigan, Rick Harris, Margaret Goode, Clive Edwards, Michael Handley, Bryn Thomas, Ann Gadsby and Audrey Sutton. The next event will be on Tuesday. Play starts at 7.45pm. Proceeds from this series of whist drives are for Acorns Children’s Hospice.

LUNCH - The next three-course lunch in the village hall is on Sunday.
