WHIST CLUB - Prizewinners at the whist drive on January 24 were Anne Preece, Margaret Kerrigan, Gwen Thomas, Sandra Payne, Allan Exton, Roger Kerrigan, Irene Hills, Jim Price, Evelyn Exton and Betty Lane.

The next event will be on Tuesday. Play starts at 7.45pm.

CHILDREN’S SOCIETY - A coffee morning will be held in the village hall on February 11 from 10am until noon. On this occasion the charity is the Children’s Society. There will be a raffle and a bring-and-buy stall.

Entrance is £2 which includes coffee and biscuits. Collecting box holders are asked to bring their boxes.

CHURCH - Over Advent and Christmas, two events raised money for charity. The sale of sweets made by the children raised £90 for Acorns Children’s Hospice, while carol singing around the village raised £150 for the CLIC Sargent Cancer Care for Children.
