FLICKS IN STICKS - Next Thursday, January 26, doors at Almeley Village Hall open 7.30pm for Water for Elephants (12A) starring Rob Pattinson and Reese Witherspoon.

Tickets £3.50, bar available.

Almeley QUIZ - Come to the Bells Inn next Thursday, January 26, for a fun quiz night hosted by Almeley Cricket Club. There will be a wide range of questions to suit all groups.

VILLAGE HALL DIARY - Today (Thursday) the AGM of the village hall starts at 7.30pm.

Officers are elected to serve for the coming year. On Saturday there will be a Chinese auction from 7pm to 10pm – a very enjoyable event at which interesting items can be obtained. Items for the stalls will be much appreciated. There will be a Sunday lunch on January 29 (please book by Wednesday). The whist club was well attended on January 10 with prizes won by Darren Beavan, Barbara Beavan, Mary Gates, Margery Phillips, Michael Handley, Margaret Goode, Irene Hills, Ann Gadsby and Clive Edwards. The next whist drive is on Tuesday at 7.45pm.

CHURCH - On Sunday there will be a Christingle service at which Christingles will be made and sold, the proceeds going to the Children's Society.
