CRICKET CLUB - Prize winners in the 100 Club draw in the last three months were £35 K Presnell, R Williams, M Jones, £25 I Grieve, K Duggan, L Duggan, £20 S Williams, R Duggan and A Jones. The club thanks all its members and local people who have supported and donated generously to it.

WHIST CLUB - Organised by Sandra and Allan Payne, assisted by Ann Preece and Rick Harris, the series of autumn whist drives has raised £200 for Acorns Children’s Hospice.

On December 13, prizes were won by Ann Preece, Mary Gates, Rick Harris, Trevor Chant, Diane Jenkins, Clive Edwards, Audrey Sutton. Terry Beaumont Barbara Beavan and Margaret Price. On Tuesday last week another whist drive was held, this time in aid of St Mary’s Church. There was a good attendance and prizes were won by Margery Phillips, John Pugh, Betty Lane, Sandra Payne, Mario Battenti, Margaret Kerrigan, Mary Layton, Mary Gates, Rose Howells, Margaret Price, Jinks, Anne Preece and Ann Gadsby. The highest score of the evening was by Roger Kerrigan. On behalf of St Mary’s, John Hope thanked all those who had donated prizes and everyone who attended. MC Rick Harris announced that the next whist drive will be on January 10.
