Christmas social afternoon in Almeley Village Hall

CHRISTMAS SOCIAL - A Christmas social afternoon has been planned to take place in the village hall on Saturday, December 17, starting at 3pm.

Enjoy mulled wine, mince pies and sausage rolls. Tea will also be available. There will be a raffle and the cost for refreshments is £2 per head. This is an opportunity for villagers to get together in this festive season.

CHURCH - Next Wednesday, December 14, a festive evening will take place at Crispin, Woonton, by invitation of Mrs Elizabeth Shayler. It will run from 7pm until 9pm.

There will be mulled wine and lots of tasty morsels to eat. During the evening there will be a raffle. Tickets cost £5 and proceeds go to Saint Mary's Church. Further information from Elizabeth 01544 340746. Everyone is welcome.

WHIST CLUB - Players met again on November 29, in the village hall. Prize winners were Muriel Fenton, Ann Preece, Nickie Handley, Barbara Beavan, Mario Battenti, Jimm Price Wyndham Evans, Allan Exton Margaret Goode and Margaret Kerrigan.

Players will meet again next Tuesday and there is an extra event on Tuesday, December 20. Play starts at 7.45pm.
