CHURCH - Services over the Christmas period will be the carol service at 3pm on December 23, midnight communion at 11.30pm on Christmas Eve, an 11am service on Christmas Day and a group service at 10am on December 30. Everyone is welcome to join in these celebrations.

CHARITY SHOP - As a result of the efforts of a loyal band of workers at the charity shop in Kington at the beginning of November, £1,060 was raised for church funds.

CHURCH - The Christmas market is from 6pm until 9pm tomorrow (Friday). Accompanied by the choir and organ music, there will be mulled wine and seasonal refreshments, in addition to stalls selling wreaths, candles jewellery, stained glass, decorations, crafts and soaps.

WHIST CLUB - Prize winners at the whist drive held in the village hall on November 13 were Ann Preece, Margaret Kerrigan, Kath Evans, Anne Preece, Frank Evans, Trevor Chant, Allen Exton, Whyndam Evans and Jinks Price. The next whist drives, until the end of the year are: November 26, December 4 and December 18.

CHURCH - Supporters of the shoe box appeal are asked to bring their boxes to St Mary’s Church on Sunday, when the family service takes place. Present at this service will be Irene Priday, who organised the appeal. She will talk about the children who are the recipients of the boxes. The service is at 11am. On November 28, Edna Hughes will be running another wreath-making day. Starting at 10.30am, in the church. Edna needs to know the number of people attending, so that she can prepare the rings ready for decorating.
